Report: Major Update On Bandido's AEW Return

Latest on when Bandido could return to AEW

An absent AEW star may be back on TV very soon.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bandido was scheduled to be ready for an in-ring return in May so the expectation is the former ROH World Champion should be back in the near future.

"Bandido should be back right around now. The last I heard about him was May and obviously May is just about over. I don't know what the situation is with him. Tonight would have been a good night to debut him in that Casino Gauntlet because it would have been a big pop, he would have been fantastic. I don't even know if he's on their radar right now because sometimes when guys disappear they're just kind of forgotten about in a lot of ways," Meltzer said.

Bandido has been out of action for almost a year, having suffered a broken wrist around his June 16, 2023 match against Konosuke Takeshita. Bandido underwent surgery following the injury and he was expected to return in September but the luchador's wrist worsened and he had to undergo surgery for a second time in December.

Bandido has been signed with AEW since November 2022, putting pen to paper following an impressive debut against Chris Jericho.
