Update On Britt Baker After AEW Dynamite Absence

Britt Baker was scheduled to wrestle on the October 8 ‘Title Tuesday’ edition of AEW Dynamite, but missed the show due to illness.

Baker was set to compete against Willow Nightingale for a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship but this was instead replaced by a four way, with Nightingale winning the match and a shot at Mariah May at WrestleDream on October 12.

In an update on X/Twitter, Baker posted a video thanking those who reached out to her, with Baker having to take time off due to a case of strep throat. Baker’s voice is very quiet and hoarse in the video, with ‘The Dentist’ revealing she has taken antibiotics, an IV, and a shot in order to aid her recovery, although no timetable has been set for her return.

Baker addressed naysayers who assumed she was faking her illness, telling them to ‘f*** off’ at the end of the video.

This latest illness is a blow to Baker who only returned to action at Blood & Guts in late July after nearly a year away due to nagging injuries and a mini-stroke.
