Update On Cedric Alexander Possibly Joining AEW

Since his WWE departure in February, Cedric Alexander has been linked with a move to All Elite Wrestling, with a Hurt Syndicate reunion on the cards should he sign.

Alexander has spoken of his desire to reunite with MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin, with the group already attaining gold during their short stay in AEW. A report from Fightful Select reaffirms that Alexander is open to joining AEW, and it seems that time will tell if the two sides agree to work together.

The report also suggests that some believed Alexander’s wife Big Swole’s contemptuous relationship with AEW could be a stumbling block for any negotiations, however sources suggested it isn’t, and it would take a lot more than that to truly burn that bridge. Swole was part of AEW’s women’s division during the early years of the promotion, but exited the promotion messily amid public mud slinging between herself and AEW President Tony Khan.

A former WWE Cruiserweight Champion and Raw Tag Team Champion, Cedric returned to the independent circuit in May after the conclusion of his no-compete period, appearing for House of Glory on May 9.
