Update On WWE Plans For John Cena Vs. CM Punk

John Cena vs. CM Punk won't be taking place at the event which hosted their most famous match.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that the next showdown between John Cena and CM Punk is not currently scheduled to take place at Money in the Bank. The 2025 edition of the popular show is planned for June 7 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California.

WWE still want to run CM Punk vs. John Cena at some point in 2025 "when the timing is right", although it is unknown when exactly the company are thinking about holding the match.

CM Punk and John Cena feuded over the WWE Championship from the Summer of 2011 until early 2013, with Punk famously beating Cena for the WWE Title at Money in the Bank 2011 before he walked out of the company with the belt.

Punk and Cena have clashed on WWE TV in 2025, notably at the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber, but they have not faced off in a singles match since February 2013.
