Update On Crazzy Steve's TNA Status Following AEW Debut In Dark Match
Latest on Crazzy Steve following AEW debut
Jan 24, 2025
In somewhat of a surprise, Crazzy Steve (billed as Crazy Steve) made his debut for All Elite Wrestling on Wednesday night, facing Serpentico in a dark match ahead of the live taping of AEW Dynamite in Knoxville, Tennessee. Steve thanked the fans and AEW following the match.
Crazzy Steve's AEW match instantly led to questions about his TNA status as the 40-year-old is still listed as a wrestler on TNA's roster page and the promotion's talents are not permitted to work for AEW.
In an update, Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp has reported that Crazzy Steve and TNA had an amicable split in 2024 and there are no current plans in place for him to return to the company. There don't appear to be any issues between the two sides, with it being noted by people within TNA that Steve was always well-liked.
If Steve's match in Knoxville was a tryout for AEW/Ring of Honor is currently unknown. Steve has not wrestled for TNA since April 21 and he has primarily competed for AAA and on the independent wrestling scene in recent months for Juggalo Championship Wrestling.
In TNA, Crazzy Steve is a former TNA World Tag Team Champion and one-time TNA Digital Media Champion.
The Digital Media Championship scene was in turmoil this week after PCO destroyed the title belt in a shoot moment at The People vs. GCW. The title's future was revealed on Thursday night's live episode of TNA IMPACT.
