Update On Dakota Kai Following ACL Surgery

Dakota Kai went under the knife last month

Dakota Kai has provided a positive update on her health a month after undergoing ACL surgery.

The Damage CTRL member suffered the injury on the May 12 edition of SmackDown, when she teamed up with Bayley to challenge the then-Women's Tag Team Champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Gonzalez.

Kai sustained the injury while delivering a move and trying to protect Morgan (who had suffered a shoulder injury earlier in the bout).

Posting to Twitter, Dakota revealed that she is now out of her straight-leg brace and is able to wear sweatpants with holes in the knees once more. Adding to that, Shayna Baszler noted during a Twitch stream last week that Kai is "way ahead of schedule".

There is currently no timetable for the 35-year-old's return.

Dakota's Damage CTRL stablemates have both qualified for the women's Money in the Bank match at the titular premium live event on July 1. However, Bayley will put her spot in the match on the line against Shotzi on this Friday's episode of SmackDown.
