WWE have traditionally revealed their pay-per-view/premium live event calendar well in advance, particularly for their B-level shows, but that hasn't been the case in 2023.

WWE have instead made the announcements much closer to the time, with the recent reveals that Payback will take place on Saturday, September 2 at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh and that Fastlane will be returning on Saturday, October 7 for WWE's first pay-per-view in Indianapolis since Clash of Champions 2016.

According to Fightful Select, WWE have changed up how they make pay-per-view announcements as the company has tried to be as strategic as possible, with economics, storylines, and audience growth all factors in determining when WWE will make the announcements. Instead of announcing multiple shows at once, WWE have transitioned to individual announcements to allow each PLE to have its own moment.

WWE's next pay-per-view is set to be Money in the Bank, which is scheduled for Saturday, July 1 at The O2 in London, England. WWE will then return to pay-per-view on Saturday, August 5 for SummerSlam in Detroit, Michigan.
