Update On Expiring NJPW Talent's Contracts
Latest on expiring NJPW talent contracts
Jan 10, 2025
The new year sees many New Japan Pro-Wrestling talent contracts nearing their expirations, and 2025 is no different, with several prominent NJPW stars nearing the end of their deals.
Reports at the end of 2024 stated that Kevin Knight, TJP, Gabe Kidd, and David Finlay were all approaching the ends of their contracts, but a follow-up report from Fightful Select suggests there has been dialogue between NJPW and the talents in question.
In the case of Knight, the two sides have been in active negotiations over a new deal, with the Intergalactic Jet Setter a rising star in the promotion.
As for TJP, Finlay, and Kidd, NJPW expect all three to remain with the company. The trio occupy prominent positions on the NJPW card, with TJP seeing himself as the leader of the United Empire following Will Ospreay’s exit from the promotion in 2024, whilst Bullet Club War Dogs Finlay and Kidd have both received plaudits for their recent efforts inside the Tokyo Dome, especially for Kidd following his early MOTY candidate with Kenny Omega at Wrestle Dynasty.
