Update On Friday's WWE SmackDown Scheduled For Detroit...

What's the latest on Friday's show?

Over the previous day, reports indicated that Friday's episode of WWE SmackDown would be moved from its scheduled location of Detroit to the WWE Performance Center, but nothing was certain.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has now reported that Friday's tapings are officially being moved to Orlando's Performance Center. The decision was made Thursday afternoon, following much back and forth discussion.

At the time of the report, the logistics for the event were still being figured out.

PWInsider reported Wednesday night that a move from Detroit to Orlando was in play due to Coronavirus concerns, but WWE issued a statement, claiming that the Detroit tapings were still on. However, they were working on a contingency plan, "in the event that upcoming WWE shows are cancelled by government officials, civil authorities, and/or local venues."

The fate of WrestleMania 36 in Tampa is still up in the air, after local officials have decided to wait a week before deciding anything. On the AEW side of the fence, next week's Dynamite tapings in Rochester, NY have been postponed until July.
