Tama Tonga found himself on the receiving end of a fine from WWE in recent weeks over his social media usage.
Ahead of the March 20 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Tama Tonga took to social media and posted a 360-degree shot of the stage, arena, and ring. While little could be seen, it was obvious that rehearsals were taking place ahead of SmackDown and WWE considered this to be enough for the company to issue Tonga with a "significant fine" due to an unwritten rule of not filming during rehearsals.
Fightful Select has reported that Tama Tonga's fine was in the five-figure territory, meaning it was anywhere from $10,000 to $99,999.
Tonga's social media usage in 2026 had already resulted in him spoiling a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble when he posted a clip of himself at a shisha bar, accidentally showing a face-paintless Mr. Iguana sitting in the background.
The fine for Tama Tonga received criticism on social media due to WWE having already heavily peeled back the curtain about what happens behind the scenes in the company through the WWE: Unreal series on Netflix, which has already aired for two seasons.
Tama Tonga wrestled on the March 20 episode of Friday Night SmackDown as he and Jeff Cobb dropped the WWE Tag Team Championships to Damian Priest and R-Truth.
