Matt Riddle made a surprise appearance at TNA Turning Point on November 29, turning up to team with Zachary Wentz and KUSHIDA in a losing effort to The Hardys and Ace Austin in a six-man tag math.

In an update, Fightful Select noted that Riddle was called in as a last-minute replacement when TNA were informed that the man Riddle ended up replacing, Trey Miguel, had a travel situation and would not be able to make the show.

While the situation wasn't ideal, TNA weren't exactly stressing about it since the show was taking place at the WrestleCade convention and there were plenty of potential replacements in the building.

The report added that TNA were happy with the live reception Riddle received, but wouldn't commit to using him again in the future.

The 38-year-old had previously claimed that a scheduling issue was preventing him from working with the promotion.

There has been a fair bit of speculation around the future of the King of Bros of late. Riddle himself has said that the chances of him returning to WWE one day are 'extremely high', while AEW reportedly have no interest in bringing him in.
