The band is back together… again, with the recent news that Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are joining forces for a new project. That new project doesn't involve professional wrestling, however.

In a video released to social media on April 28, the former NWO heads - in a style reminiscent of the group’s paid announcements on WCW television - noted how they, alongside a ‘third man’, were back ‘and better than ever’.

That 'third man' was revealed today to be Israel 'Izzy' Martinez, an amateur wrestling coach who is the head of Izzy Style Wrestling. Martinez has coached the likes of Jon Jones, Holly Holm, and Yair Rodriguez in the UFC. The reveal following days of speculation ended up being the launch of Real American Freestyle, a new venture with Martinez, Hogan, and Bischoff in freestyle amateur wrestling.

The response to the reveal has been largely negative, with many of the replies to Bischoff and Hogan's social media posts being the meme of Conor McGregor saying, 'Who the fook is that guy?' Why Bischoff and Hogan have decided to get involved in amateur wrestling is unknown.

Bischoff and Hogan have worked together for decades. They famously masterminded the industry-changing New World Order angle in mid-1990s WCW, the popularity of the black and white swinging the Monday Night Wars in WCW’s favour for several years. The two would later head to TNA Wrestling in the 2010s, but their run in the IMPACT Zone was less successful.
