Update On Nick Aldis' WWE Status After Becoming SmackDown GM

Will Aldis continue in his backstage role, now that he's an on-camera character?

Former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis made his on-screen WWE debut on last week's episode of SmackDown, when Triple H announced him as the new General Manager of the blue brand.

Aldis then introduced Kevin Owens as a member of the SmackDown roster, a trade for Jey Uso moving to Raw in September.

Prior to that, Aldis had been working as a backstage producer for the company.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, the 36-year-old's new on-camera assignment will not hinder his other duties and he will continue to work as a producer.

The report added that Aldis was in charge of producing a match between Akira Tozawa and Nathan Frazer, which was taped prior to this past Monday's edition of Raw.

People within WWE have praised Aldis as being easy to work with and eager to make the most of whatever role he has been given.

According to a recent report, there were discussions about bringing in Aldis' wife (and former WWE star) Mickie James to potentially act as co-GM alongside her husband.
