AJ Styles announced that he is set to retire in 2026, with the clock now running out on Styles’ time in the ring for dream matches, wrestling outside of WWE, and more. When it comes to WWE’s crossover with TNA, Styles has been a name on the lips of everyone as a potential name to compete in TNA before retiring since he is one of the biggest stars ever produced by the company. Styles did cameo in TNA in a non-wrestling role at Slammiversary 2025, but TNA has their eyes on more for Styles going forwards.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, TNA is eyeing up a match for Styles upon the turn of the year when TNA begins in life on AMC following the announcement of a new TV deal for the promotion. The idea would be for Styles to compete on the first AMC show, kicking things off with a ratings boost and using Styles’ WWE pedigree to add eyes to the card.

It has been noted by Styles over the last several months that he’d be open to returning to TNA for a match.
