Update On Potential WWE Interest In CM Punk

What's the latest?

With AEW letting backstage agent Ace Steel go earlier this week, there is much discussion about what the next actions taken will be regarding the physical altercation following AEW All Out, specifically regarding former World champion CM Punk.

A report from Fightful Select cites several AEW talents who've said of Punk, "...they aren't interested in working in a locker room that he's involved in again, unless huge amends are made for how the night made All Elite Wrestling look in general." Others believe that Punk, "...realistically can't expect to be back."

Fightful also spoke with WWE sources, who believe that the door could be open for Punk to possibly return, albeit under specific circumstances. It's believed that with WWE's present mentality being "right situation, right money and right creative", it creates an opportunity for anyone to return, Punk included.

One source told Fightful, "Triple H wants to be a success and make compelling programming more than anything. CM Punk back in WWE is compelling programming, but I can't see it being a full-time deal like what he has in AEW, because of exactly what happened in AEW."
