Update On Ricky Starks Being Backstage At AEW Full Gear

Ricky Starks was backstage at Saturday night's AEW Full Gear pay-per-view from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, making an appearance behind the scenes at an AEW event for the first time in a while.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that Starks was warmly greeted by those he encountered backstage, while Fightful Select noted that Starks was getting along well with everyone.

Starks being backstage came only a few hours after he made a surprise appearance at GCW Dream On at American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Starks took out Jimmy Lloyd during the appearance before he aired his frustrations about being "frozen out". His appearance in GCW would have needed to be cleared by All Elite Wrestling.

PWInsider noted there is no word, however, on whether Starks is planned for an AEW return following Full Gear. The two sides have appeared to have frosty relations for much of 2024 and AEW haven't used Starks since March.

Starks is under contract with AEW for some time but the belief within the promotion is the former AEW World Tag Team Champion wants to go to WWE.
