Darby Allin in a car crash at the end of AEW Full Gear 2024

Darby Allin didn't use a stuntman for his car crash in the closing moments of the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view.

Saturday's show ended in chaotic fashion as Hangman Page initially confronted Jon Moxley before Christian Cage laid out the AEW World Champion and looked set to cash in his Casino Gauntlet contract. Before he could do so, though, Jay White took out Christian with a Blade Runner.

This left Moxley and the Death Riders running to the back to get out of the Prudential Center, but another car suddenly wiped out their pickup truck. A bleeding Darby Allin then exited the vehicle and tried to chase after the Death Riders, who had already driven off in a stolen car. Darby instead ended the show destroying the pickup truck further with his skateboard.

Discussing the moment on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez reported that Darby was legitimately behind the wheel of the car that crashed.

"And so they take off in the car, and limping, covered in blood, out of the other car is Darby, and I can tell you, it wasn't a stuntman. He was driving the car, and I think he damn near killed himself, because he gets out of the car, he's covered in blood, and he's supposed to get on the car, the truck that he ran into, and destroy it with a skateboard. This guy is stumbling around. He had him get on the truck, and he slips off the truck. And he tried. He falls off the truck, and he finally gets up there, and he's all woozy, and he starts hitting the truck with a skateboard. I was like, did he get a concussion? Like, did he hurt himself? Why did they let him drive the car? Why do they have a stuntman?" Alvarez said.

AEW reportedly ended Full Gear in chaos to showcase how many wrestlers are pursuing Jon Moxley and the AEW World Championship. The end goal may be for Darby to win the belt, especially as he was originally planned to dethrone Bryan Danielson before plans changed.
