Update On Road Dogg Reportedly Stepping Down From WWE SmackDown Live Co-Lead Writer Role

He's not leaving the company...

Earlier today it was reported by Mike Johnson over at PWInsider that WWE SmackDown Live Co-lead Writer, Road Dogg, had informed the company of his intention to resign from his position yesterday.

We have an update on the former tag team champion's situation, as Pro Wrestling Sheet are reporting that they've had it confirmed to them that Dogg will be transitioning to a new role in WWE.

While Dogg has stepped down from his role behind the scenes on SmackDown, he is not leaving WWE.

Pro Wrestling Sheet's sources have told them that it was a mutual decision to move Road Dogg to a new role with the move to Fox inching closer. "We’re told WWE wants to keep his position flexible at this time and use him as a utility player, so they can see where he’d fit best going forward," PWS' report claims.

The report claims that Dogg could fill the role recently vacated by Arn Anderson - The Horseman was reportedly fired towards the start of March - at live events, or could even transition to a role on commentary.

"Our sources made it clear, however, that this wasn’t a contentious decision and all parties involved thought it was best," the report from PWS states.
