Update On Roman Reigns' New WWE Theme Song

The Tribal Chief recently changed up his music

In what many felt was an overdue change, WWE Universal champion Roman Reigns recently introduced new theme music, sounding far different than what he's accustomed to entering to.

Fans had clamored for WWE to update Reigns' music for some time, particularly after he turned heel last August.

According to Fightful Select, the new song had been in the works for some time, but only recently was it implemented.

Fightful's report notes, "Roman Reigns debuted a new theme, seven years after the Shield split. Reigns spoke about getting a new theme earlier this year, but we're told the wheels were in motion shortly after he returned at Summerslam. The work had already started on the theme six months ago at least. WWE has worked to get away from Jim Johnston and CFO$ era themes over the last year. Often times when working on a theme, it will get sent for approval and still require work, although we're not sure if that happened here, it did with Big E's Wale theme."

From 2012 up until recently, Reigns had functionally used two versions of the same basic theme song. The Shield theme that Reigns entered to through mid-2014 was slightly redone for him as a single, upon the dissolution of the group.
