“Stone Cold” Steve Austin has not wrestled since the main event of WrestleMania 38 Saturday, returning to the ring after 19 years away from competing to take on Kevin Owens in an impromptu match - a bout that went down well with fans due to its simplicity, elements of fun, and feel-good nature. Despite some speculation in the years following in the build up to WWE’s Saudi Arabia shows, Royal Rumbles, and WrestleMania events, Austin has not made another comeback.
However, there is still a chance that this changes. According to a report from Fightful Select, multiple sources claimed that during WrestleMania 41 weekend in Las Vegas, Austin was telling people that he may have “one more in him” when it comes to another match. Those who saw him revealed that he was open to the idea if the circumstances were right.
This contradicts recent comments made by Austin publicly, where he claimed that he had no interest in wrestling again. He did also reveal that he had regrets over his WrestleMania 38 match, not savouring the moment enough. Austin did appear at WrestleMania 41 this year, though his appearance was embroiled in controversy as he crashed his ATV into the barricade, knocking over a fan in an incident that worried many of those in WWE when it comes to possible legal repercussions.
