Update On Two Planned WWE WrestleMania 40 Matches

Two WWE WrestleMania 40 matches confirmed

WWE's plans for WrestleMania 40 were firmly in motion at Elimination Chamber 2024 and two matches heavily teased for Mania during the men's Elimination Chamber match are internally planned for WWE's biggest show of the year.

Aaron Varble of SE Scoops first reported that Logan Paul vs. Randy Orton was planned for WrestleMania 40. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has since confirmed Randy Orton will be facing Logan Paul at WrestleMania, while LA Knight will be taking on AJ Styles at the 'Showcase of the Immortals'. Both matches are internally listed on the WrestleMania card within WWE.

The matches being on WrestleMania was obvious after the men's Elimination Chamber match. AJ Styles' beatdown of LA Knight with a steel chair led to the former Eli Drake's elimination from the Chamber, while Logan Paul cost Randy Orton the Chamber win after he decked the 14-time world champion with a brass knuckles shot. This came after Orton eliminated Paul with an RKO out of nowhere. Drew McIntyre ultimately won the Chamber match.

The top match set for WrestleMania 40 is Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The match was made official after The Rock moved himself out of the WrestleMania main event, where he was scheduled to face Roman Reigns.
