Update On Von Wagner’s NXT Status
The reason why Von Wagner wasn't on NXT TV has been revealed... sort of
Fans of NXT will have noticed that Von Wagner had been notably absent from NXT television in recent months, not competing on the main weekly NXT TV show since all the way back in November in a loss to Bron Breakker. Following that, a brief segment in which he was at Robert Stone’s house aired on November 21, but that was it.
Since then, Wagner has competed on NXT Level Up and WWE Main Event, in addition to the odd house show here and there. After being featured so heavily on NXT programming for a while, it was a surprise to see him suddenly demoted to secondary shows.
On this past week’s episode of NXT, Wagner made his return in a backstage segment where he confronted Heritage Cup holder Noam Dar, sparking the start of a feud. Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter provided some news on why Wagner was not on TV - and the update is that there is no real story. Simply put, Wagner was just not being used. He wasn’t injured, having wrestled on other shows in the meantime, and NXT simply just waited until this week to reintroduce him to storylines.
