After months of speculation, Mercedes Moné made her first appearance on an All Elite Wrestling broadcast at All In on August 27, with the former IWGP Women’s Champion watching the action inside Wembley Stadium.

Since signing with NJPW in early 2023, many have assumed that Moné would make an eventual appearance inside an AEW ring, but we are still waiting for that to happen. When asked about NJPW stars working the upcoming AEW WrestleDream show on October 1, AEW President Tony Khan said the following during the All Out pre-show media call:

One of the great stars involved in New Japan, who I have a ton of respect for, is Mercedes Mone," said Khan. "I think we have a good relationship, and I think she’s one of the greatest wrestlers on the planet. It was great to have her at All In. She’s not available to wrestle right now, but when she does wrestle, I think she’s as good as anyone and one of the best in the world. I have so much respect for her as a competitor. Certainly, she’s one of the top stars in the world. I don’t know if she would be physically cleared at that time. I’m not expecting that because she had a major injury. When she’s cleared, that is someone we’re really interested in working with.”

Moné has been out of action with a leg injury since late May. Moné is expected to make her AEW debut when she is cleared for an in-ring return.
