Vampiro's in-ring retirement lasted a whole two months, with the former WCW talent coming out of retirement for what was billed as one night only on Saturday, June 13.
Masked Republic and UTA held their latest MaskedMania event over the weekend at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine but the show was affected by travel issues in the United States, with Sam Adonis noting that Juventud Guerrera, Galeno Del Mal, and Ludark all failed to make it to Maine after they got stuck in Washington, DC.
This ultimately meant the MaskedMania card had to be reshuffled and Vampiro decided to come out of retirement to make it up to the fans for the missing talent. The 1990s Lucha Libre star was already booked as the host of the event, and he opened the show, ultimately being attacked by Sam Adonis, which resulted in Jack Evans making the save.
This played into the main event as Vampiro ended his retirement as Jack Evans' surprise tag team partner against Sam Adonis and Halloween Jr. Vampiro wrestled in a t-shirt, jacket and jeans, and the babyfaces secured the win, too, pinning Adonis and Halloween at the same time with stereo schoolboy pins.
Vampiro's one-night return took place only a couple of months after he retired from professional wrestling at Juggalo Championship Wrestling Strangle-Mania during WrestleMania 42 weekend, where he defeated Big Vito and PCO in a three-way main event. The former WCW talent had already retired on multiple occasions before 2026, leaving many fans to speculate that WrestleMania 42 would, in fact, not be Vampiro's last match.
