Very Few People In WWE NXT Know Who Attacked Trick Williams

WWE appear to be keeping this particular storyline very close to their chest.

Last week's episode of WWE NXT saw Trick Williams taken out by a backstage assault. According to a report by Bodyslam.net, WWE are keeping the identity of the assailant very close to their chest. The report explains:

"Since Tuesday night’s show, we have been asking around with NXT sources about the attack and if there was any indication on the identity of Trick’s attacker. We were told from multiple sources that WWE are looking to keep the attacker’s identity close to the vest, with very few people in the know about the storyline across the brand."

From recent on-screen clues, it seems as though WWE are at least suggesting that the main culprit is Carmelo Hayes, given recent tensions between the two friends (and the fact that Hayes ultimately won the number one contender match Williams was forced to pull out of.) However, it could always be a bait-and-switch, with plenty of heels possibly looking to meddle in the two men's alliance.

Both Hayes and Williams recently lost gold in NXT (the NXT Championship and North American Championship respectively), and tensions have increased between the pair since, with Trick even seeking guidance from John Cena about striking out on his own. Hayes, meanwhile, has been desperate to re-capture the title he lost to Ilja Dragunov.
