Vince McMahon is being represented by a high-profile PR rep who has been referred to as "one of the most accomplished practitioners of the dark arts of public relations".
McMahon is currently embroiled in scandal after being sued by former WWE employee Janel Grant (who is also suing WWE and John Laurinaitis). Among Grant's claims are that McMahon forced her into unwanted sexual encounters with other men and that he physically and sexually assaulted her.
Wrestlenomics noted that the 78-year-old has enlisted the services of the public relations firm Sitrick and Company. The firm is headed up by Michael Sitrick who, according to an excerpt from an article in the LA Times, is "a public relations puppet master who has pulled the strings behind some of the biggest stories in media".
Sitrick confirmed to Wrestlenomics and POST Wrestling that his firm are representing McMahon, calling it a "relatively new relationship".
The relationship came about due to an existing one between Sitrick and McMahon's legal team. Sitrick made it clear when speaking to Wrestlenomics that his team had done their due diligence on the case before accepting McMahon as a client. He also noted that he is working directly with McMahon himself.
Sitrick and Company do have a history with professional wrestling, having worked in the past with Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin.
McMahon filed a legal motion seeking to move Grant's claim to arbitration earlier this week. In the motion, McMahon denied Grant's many accusations and attempted to call into question her moral character. Grant's legal team subsequently requested that the court strike McMahon's statements from the memorandum.
