Powerhouse Hobbs Dealing With Legitimate Injury Following AEW Dynamite

Powerhouse Hobbs suffers legit knee injury on AEW Dynamite

Powerhouse Hobbs is legitimately injured.

The Don Callis Family member challenged Jon Moxley for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of the April 24 edition of Dynamite. The match came to an end after 10 minutes, though, and Hobbs appeared to suffer an injury down the stretch as he was noticeably hobbling during the final moments of the match. Hobbs ultimately lost after being choked out by Jon Moxley.

Bryan Alvarez reported on Wrestling Observer Live that Powerhouse Hobbs sustained a legitimate knee injury on AEW Dynamite. It is unknown if Hobbs will miss any time.

"I want to start by wishing the best to Hobbs. If you watched the show last night, that was not a worked knee injury. He went for a high cross or something and smashed into the turnbuckles and injured his knee. He could barely walk and he hopped his way back into the ring, hopped into like two spots and got choked out. There was more they were going to do...The Hobbs match was obviously supposed to go longer than it did. We don't know the extent of his knee injury yet except that it is real. Hopefully it is not bad," Alvarez said.

Hobbs vs. Moxley didn't close out AEW Dynamite. The final angle of the show saw The Elite beat down Tony Khan, first with a punch to the gut from Jack Perry before The Young Bucks levelled their boss with a Tony Khan Driver. The AEW CEO sold the effects of the angle following Dynamite, sporting a neck brace during the taping of the Parking Lot Fight between Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor.
