Vince McMahon On WWE Medical Leave Following Spinal Surgery

Vince McMahon is currently on medical leave from WWE

Triple H looks to be back in charge of WWE creative, at least for the time being.

Vince McMahon underwent major spinal surgery in July, with the operation reportedly lasting almost five hours. The surgery was said to be "life-altering" but the full extent of the operation has not been revealed.

It was noted that McMahon did not do any work for Raw and SmackDown immediately following the operation and the 77-year-old has stepped away from WWE for now, with it being revealed in the company's Q2 2023 financial results that McMahon went on medical leave following the surgery on July 21. McMahon will remain on medical leave until further notice, although he will remain WWE Executive Chairman.

Triple H is still WWE Chief Content Officer and the power structure within creative since April has largely seen Triple H run TV tapings and write programming, with McMahon then making last-minute changes to Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown. McMahon has also sporadically been at Gorilla for TV tapings, primarily when shows are close to his home in Connecticut.

Only days before his major spinal surgery, a search warrant was executed against Vince McMahon. Find out more here
