Vince McMahon has taken to social media to share a moving tribute to Jack Lanza, who sadly passed away this week at 86-years-old.

As reported, Lanza passed away at a unreported point in the past few days, with friend and former colleague Jim Ross sharing the news on Twitter.

Best known for his years as the villainous Blackjack Lanza, the multiple time Tag Team Champion has now been the subject of tribute from WWE Chairman McMahon.

Writing on Twitter, McMahon said: "Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Jack Lanza. He was a man’s man, respected and beloved by all. He worked for and loved WWE for many years. His loyalty and dedication will never be forgotten."

Lanza retired from in-ring competition in 1985 and became a backstage official for WWE, and could often be seen in various backstage segments or itervening in pull-apart brawls.

Lanza, alongside Blackjack Mulligan, was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2006, while the duo were later inducted into the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2016.
