Vince McMahon To Appear On WWE SmackDown Tonight

Vince McMahon to appear on SmackDown after he steps down as WWE CEO and Chairman

Within a one-line press release, WWE announced that Vince McMahon will make an appearance on tonight's episode of Friday Night SmackDown from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

"WWE (NYSE: WWE) today announced that Mr. McMahon will appear on SmackDown tonight at 8 pm ET live on FOX," WWE wrote.

McMahon will appear on the show following the announcement that a Special Committee of WWE's board was investigating misconduct allegations against him and WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis. Vince has stepped down as WWE CEO and Chairman while the investigation is ongoing and Stephanie McMahon has been appointed as his interim replacement.

The 76-year-old will continue to carry out his WWE creative responsibilities, though.

A Wall Street Journal report earlier this week revealed McMahon was under investigation from the WWE board for making a $3 million hush payment to a former employee he had an alleged sexual relationship with. The settlement stops the former employee from discussing the relationship and from disparaging McMahon.

Also announced for SmackDown is an Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match between Roman Reigns and Riddle. If Riddle loses, he will be banned from challenging for the title again while Reigns is champion. Max Dupri will also reveal the first client of Maximum Male Models.
