Wade Barrett Announces WWE Contract Extension

Good news for Wade Barrett fans

Former WWE wrestler and current NXT commentator Wade Barrett has announced that he has extended his contract with the company.

Barrett revealed that he had re-signed during a recent interview with BT Sport, noting that his previous two-year deal was due to expire.

"I'm about to hit my two-year anniversary. Just signed a new extension to my contract. (My) contract was up. It's been two years. I think August 2020 is when I came back and, last week, agreed to a new deal. Very happy to be staying around with WWE and continuing my role in NXT. Thrilled to be in that environment. Loving it."

The former Intercontinental Champion originally signed with WWE in 2006, but left in 2016, before returning as an announcer in 2020.

Barrett hasn't wrestled since 2016, but noted during the interview that he could potentially return to the ring if the right opportunity came around, although he stressed he doesn't 'have an itch' that he's trying to scratch.
