WarnerMedia Extend AEW: Dynamite Through 2023, Order Second Show

We can expect more AEW action for years to come...

Since Dynamite launched on October 2, 2019, All Elite Wrestling has established itself as the second biggest professional wrestling promotion in the United States. With stars like Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, Cody, The Young Bucks, MJF and The Lucha Brothers in action, the young promotion has attracted between 600,000 and 1.4 million viewers every week to its programming and Dynamite has been one of the highest-ranked shows in the key 18-49 demographic on Wednesday nights.

Now, AEW has announced on Twitter that they will grace our TV screens for years to come, as WarnerMedia has extended Dynamite until the end of 2023. Both parties have also agreed to produce a second wrestling show each week, but no further details were given in the press release.

AEW already hosts a second show, Dark, on YouTube on Tuesday nights. The announcement could mean this show will be aired on TNT in future, but AEW may also choose to adopt a brand split, similar to WWE.

Within the press release, AEW President Tony Khan said: "When we launched AEW one year ago, we wanted to start a revolution that would disrupt the wrestling business, but everyone said that it would take a strong weekly television partner to make AEW real in the eyes of everyone - above all, the fans. What virtually no one realised at the time was Kevin Reilly and TNT were committed to this very same movement from Day One, and their belief in us made it possible for AEW to think and act big from the start. Here we are, only four months into "Wednesday Night Dynamite" and now we’ve been extended through 2023! We’re now making the ultimate statement that the team of AEW and TNT is here to stay and to bring fans more of the great wrestling that the fans demand and deserve."
