All Elite Wrestling held the 2024 edition of All Out at the NOW Arena in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday, September 7.
Rumours of a backstage incident emerged during the show, with one X (FKA Twitter) user indicating to Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp that a whole host of security sprinted backstage at one point.
The X user wrote in a since-deleted post: "Im at the show and somthing for sure just happend backstage alll the security just sprinted back stage full speed during the last match and havent came back."
Sean Ross Sapp later stated the situation was "a big nothingburger" but Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has reported that an incident did occur backstage at All Out but it was quickly resolved.
"So before this match started, a bunch of security dudes just start sprinting backstage, and so everybody is asking 'What happened? What happened?' So what happened was, apparently, there was some incident with one of the wrestlers who was not on this show, they were shooting something backstage, and this wrestler and this production guy got into a big thing. Some people have said it's absolutely nothing, but it was big enough that security sprinted backstage. But I was told that whatever it was they apparently talked it out and everything ended up ok. But that's why everybody was sprinting backstage," Alvarez said on Wrestling Observer Radio.
All Elite Wrestling became somewhat infamous for backstage incidents in 2022 and 2023, with CM Punk involved in two backstage squabbles at All Out 2022 and then All In 2023 that led to his firing. Andrade El Idolo also at one point reportedly threw a punch at Sammy Guevara while backstage at an AEW event in October 2022.
