Where Gunther Has Been During WWE Storyline Suspension Revealed

Last week's episode of WWE Raw saw Gunther choke out colour commentator Pat McAfee, who was trying to save broadcast partner Michael Cole from the Ring General.

Gunther was suspended in storyline for his actions, but last night's Raw revealed his next big match: a one-on-one contest with McAfee at Backlash on May 10 in St. Louis, Missouri. The bout was offered to McAfee by Nick Aldis, filling in for usual Raw General Manager Adam Pearce. The announcer accepted.

Gunther recently lost the World Heavyweight Championship in the opening match of WrestleMania 41, dropping the title via submission to Jey Uso. This result has fed into the current storyline, with Gunther antagonising Cole and McAfee after becoming enraged by fans chanting, "You tapped out."

It was reported following his suspension that WWE wrote Gunther off TV as he had requested time off. PWInsider has since noted the WWE talent has been spotted in London, England on several occasions over the past week, and Gunther revealed on Instagram that he and wife Jinny have just purchased a house in Cambridge.
