LA Knight in a confrontation with The Usos

LA Knight made his return to WWE programming on the May 18 episode of Monday Night Raw, ending a month away from TV for the former WWE United States Champion.

There wasn't a huge reason behind LA Knight's hiatus, though, and people familiar with the situation claimed to Fightful Select that Knight being off TV was a "non-story" and he was just off television. It was also noted that Knight's absence was not due to injury, a pay dispute, or anything around WWE's post-WrestleMania 42 releases or pay cuts.

Plans did change for LA Knight following WrestleMania 42, however. A future match between Gunther and LA Knight was teased on the Raw after WrestleMania 42 when Knight interrupted a Gunther interview and argued he should be the next challenger for the World Heavyweight Championship. A short programme between Gunther and LA Knight was reportedly planned but those plans were quickly dropped and Gunther has instead begun a feud over the Undisputed WWE Championship with Cody Rhodes.

Upon his return on Raw, LA Knight took issue with The Usos helping Roman Reigns against Jacob Fatu, especially after they teamed together at WrestleMania 42 because of similar tactics from The Vision. Knight also came face-to-face with Seth Rollins backstage later in the show and noted Rollins needed help against The Vision, but it wouldn't be from him.
