Why Malakai Black Is Currently Off AEW TV

Malakai Black has not wrestled on AEW TV since The House of Black dropped the AEW World Trios Championships to Billy Gunn and The Acclaimed at All In and the former WWE NXT Champion has revealed why he is currently away from the promotion.

Taking to Instagram, Black revealed he is not dealing with a back injury and he is currently off TV due to a minor calf tear and hyperextension in his knee. He will be back on TV "sooner rather than later." 

"Why am I not having singles matches? I don't know. I think it's because they wanted us as the House of Black to do six-mans. I was not having six-mans to hide said non-existent injury. Again, rest assured I do not have a bad back and the reason why I am at home right now is due to a minor injury, which is I had a slight calf tear and hyperextension in my knee, which is almost nursed back. Almost ready to go back on the road...You will see me sooner rather than later," Black said.

Black revealed in the Summer of 2022 that he had been dealing with a serious back injury that he thought was going to force him into retirement. Black has not suffered from back issues since then, however.
