Reason For Serena Deeb's AEW Heat Revealed

Why Serena Deeb has heat in AEW

More details have been revealed about Serena Deeb having heat in All Elite Wrestling.

The former NWA Women's World Champion has been away from All Elite Wrestling for almost a year, having not wrestled on any AEW programming since the October 24, 2022 edition of Dark: Elevation. It emerged this week that Deeb has been away from AEW since garnering heat in the promotion and there hasn't been any talk of Deeb within AEW for some time.

Fightful Select has since reported that Deeb had a serious disagreement with management. Deeb was very vocal about how she was booked on AEW TV and, in particular, took issue with how long her matches were. The issues "entered the area of disrespect" and Deeb accused Tony Khan and AEW management of cutting time from her matches without informing her until she arrived in the ring. AEW's side claimed they showed Deeb that her matches weren't being cut from what they were originally allotted. Deeb's complaints ultimately led to her having heat, according to several members of the AEW roster and others within the company.

Producers and coaches often don't relay match times to talent until they have been finalised, with the idea it will stop wrestlers from being upset when cuts are made.

Those close to Deeb have not heard about her having heat with the promotion and Deeb has instead told people she has been dealing with a serious injury and is working to get cleared. Sources within AEW told Fightful in the summer that Deeb wasn't injured.
