Why Tony Khan Mocked Rossy Ogawa's STARDOM Firing

Reason Tony Khan mocked Rossy Ogawa revealed

There was major upheaval in STARDOM on Sunday night following the announcement by Bushiroad that STARDOM Founder and Booker Rossy Ogawa had been fired by the pro wrestling promotion. Bushiroad accused Ogawa of trying to poach talent in the announcement of his firing and reports have indicated Ogawa's departure has been coming for some time due to interference in booking from Bushiroad executives and other issues.

AEW President Tony Khan mocked Ogawa's firing, tweeting "Bye Rossy!" along with a GIF of Larry David. Khan also tweeted a GIF of The Penguin from Adam West's Batman saying "It's a clear case of industrial espionage" and another GIF from The Sopranos saying "The feds had an undercover agent in Dr Shreck's office."

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Tony Khan was happy about Ogawa's firing due to past issues with booking STARDOM wrestlers on AEW shows.

"One of the things there was, there were times when Tony tried to get talent but he couldn't because the days he was looking to get talent from STARDOM were days of STARDOM pay-per-view shows where talent had already been booked and advertised. If, again the ultimate decision would not be Rossy anyway. It would be Harada who was the guy who was the head of Bushiroad Sports... I know there was an attempt by STARDOM wanted Kris Statlander on a big show but it didn't work out. In that sense it did work both ways but I think it's pretty clear that Tony is happy that this happened," Meltzer said.

Several talents are expected to leave STARDOM in March following Ogawa's firing. Meltzer speculated that Ogawa may look to set up a new promotion with the departing STARDOM talents.
