Premium live events for the WWE NXT brand no longer have NXT branding on promotional materials, with the recent Vengeance Day and the upcoming Roadblock simply advertised as WWE shows.
Dating back to Halloween Havoc 2024, all NXT events have been simply presented as just WWE shows despite featuring talent, titles, and storylines from NXT. Fightful Select states this is simply a marketing decision, with WWE feeling the shows would fare better if given more prominent WWE branding rather than being explicitly marketed under the NXT umbrella. However, there is no word yet on if this marketing change has affected viewership for NXT PLEs.
After a handful of years back as WWE’s developmental system, NXT is once again treated as the company’s third brand, with the move to The CW in late 2024 ushering in a stylistic change as well as a renewed focus on the brand.
Prior to the divisive NXT 2.0 era, the classic ‘black and gold’ era of NXT presented their tentpole shows under the ‘TakeOver’ banner, with these events heralded as some of the greatest in modern WWE history.
