Will Ospreay has admitted he was terrified for HENARE's life during NJPW New Beginning in Osaka.

The New Beginning in Osaka was main evented by a Steel Cage Match between the United Empire and Bullet Club War Dogs in Will Ospreay's final match as a full-time NJPW talent before he heads to All Elite Wrestling. The match, contested under WarGames rules, was a bloody affair that featured barbed wire, exposed ring boards, and Clark Connors being thrown face-first into a pile of thumbtacks.

One of the viral moments of the match featured HENARE punching through Gabe Kidd's chair and then using a chair of his own to smash over Kidd's skull. The Bullet Club member didn't go down but was ultimately flattened following a hard slap from HENARE.

HENARE's head was bandaged up during the spot and Will Ospreay revealed on X (FKA Twitter) that he genuinely feared for HENARE's life.

"Not even lying. This bit I was genuinely terrified for @HenareNZ life. I cannot understate how bad this cut was on his head. The guys lost so much blood on the floor and still had enough in to throw this right hand," Ospreay tweeted.

Bullet Club War Dogs would ultimately win the match, with Will Ospreay announcing following the contest that he doesn't know when he will be back in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. His AEW deal does allow him to work New Japan shows.
