It was revealed back at the AEW Full Gear 2023 PPV in November that Will Ospreay was the newest signing to the company, and it was announced by the man himself that he would first finish up dates with his current home of New Japan Pro Wrestling before then starting in AEW full time once his NJPW contract expires.

Ospreay has already wrestled in his final NJPW singles match, taking on Kazuchika Okada at Battle In The Valley, and he will be competing in his final NJPW match on February 11 at NJPW New Beginning when United Empire takes on BULLET CLUB War Dogs in a 10-man tag team steel cage match.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has revealed that shortly following this NJPW farewell, it won’t be long until Ospreay officially arrives in AEW, with the expectation being that he will begin as a TV regular in February. It is also stated that Ospreay is currently scheduled for the AEW Revolution PPV event in Greensboro on March 3, so it seems likely that he will be present on AEW programming to build up whatever match he has on the card.
