Women's Tag Team Title Match Added To WWE Backlash

The new champs make their first defense...

A match for the WWE Women's Tag Team titles has been scheduled for this Sunday's Backlash pay-per-view, and it will be a triple threat match.

New champions Bayley and Sasha Banks will defend the gold against the team they just defeated for the titles, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross, as well as fellow challengers The IIconics.

The announcement of the title bout comes in advance of an appearance by the new champions on tonight's episode of WWE Raw.

Bliss and Cross had previously reigned as champions since winning the titles at WrestleMania 36. They had been feuding with the IIconics prior to dropping the titles to Bayley and Banks.

The current card for this Sunday's WWE Backlash, taking place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, is as follows:

*WWE World: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Bobby Lashley

*WWE Universal/Handicap match: Braun Strowman (c) vs. John Morrison and The Miz

*Raw Women's: Asuka (c) vs. Nia Jax

*WWE Women's Tag Team: Bayley and Sasha Banks (c) vs. The IIconics vs. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross

*Edge vs. Randy Orton

*Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus
