In an unexpected announcement, it was revealed that WWE 2K have partnered with Premier League side AFC Bournemouth to collaborate on WWE 2K24. The partnership will feature digital campaigns between 'The Cherries' and WWE 2K24.

Whether AFC Bournemouth players will end up appearing in the WWE video game is unknown but the Bournemouth-themed content will be available in the coming weeks.

Senior Director of Franchise and Partnerships Strategy, Sports at 2K Bryce Yang said: "WWE 2K and AFC Bournemouth make a formidable tag team in the ring and on the pitch. We're thrilled to partner with the Cherries and wish them great success this season. Together, anything is possible!"

Commercial Director at AFC Bournemouth Rob Mitchell added: "Partnering with WWE 2K is a fantastic opportunity for us to engage with our supporters in a new and innovative way. This collaboration will combine the thrill of WWE 2K's gameplay, with the dynamic world of Premier League football."

Pro wrestling and football have already collided over the past week, with it being revealed that All Elite Wrestling would be the shirt sponsor for Fulham FC Women for the 2024/25 season. WWE also collaborated with Manchester City earlier this Summer over a collection of merchandise.
