WWE 2K22 Executive Producer Addresses Delayed Development News Concerns

WWE 2K22 is set for a March 2022 release

WWE 2K22’s Executive Producer has moved to address concerns from fans regarding the delay in the game's release and any further news about developement.

2k Games halted development on their WWE products in the wake of severe negative reaction to WWE 2K20, taking a year off to try and build the perfect experience in 2K22.

It was confirmed over SummerSlam 2021 weekend that WWE 2K22, which was originally expected to be available by the end of 2021, is now set for a March 2022 release.

This news makes 2021 the first year since 1997 without any kind of video game release from WWE.

Taking to social media to address concerns, Executive Producer Patrick Gilmore, said that the development team was supportive of the decision to delay further updates until January in order to completely focus on building the game.

Gilmore would add, while he couldn't make any promises, they would try to come up with a way to let players see more progess.

He wrote: "I've heard some concerns about WWE2K22 going quiet until January. The challenge is that creating updates like the #SummerSlam trailer requires support from development, and we're trying to stay completely focused on making you the best game possible.

"Our marketing and community teams are 1000% supportive of our development focus. No promises, but we're talking about ways to share more about our progress to keep you all in the loop, so you won't have to wait until next year to learn more."
