WWE 2K22 Set For March 2022 Release

More details will be available in January

2K Games have confirmed that the latest instalment in the WWE series, 2K22, will release in March 2022.

The announcement was made during a new teaser trailer that aired during WWE SummerSlam 2021, which showed off footage of an in-progress build from the game.

Footage shown in the advert, which can be viewed below, showed Roman Reigns, Bayley, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Ricochet and Shinsuke Nakamura in virtual form, among other WWE superstars.

A full announcement of features available in the game, different modes, the cover Superstar and the full playable roster will be presented in January 2022.

WWE 2K games have traditionally been released in October or early November each year, in order to be available in time for the Christmas market.

WWE 2K21 was cancelled due to a seriously poor reception to WWE 2K20 in 2019, with the game filled with glitches and bugs, as well as poor gameplay design. 2K Games then decided to spend a year working on the next game in the WWE franchise to ensure the best quality possible for consumers.

2K and WWE released a fully rendered screenshot of The Rated-R Superstar, Edge, earlier this month, to further show off progression in their development of WWE 2K22.
