The social media landscape has become even more fragmented in recent months, with many people fleeing X/Twitter and signing up to Bluesky in the aftermath of Donald Trump's successful election campaign for president of the United States in November 2024. This is primarily due to X owner Elon Musk's closeness to Trump to the point Musk is in charge of the Department of Government Efficiency.
Many pro wrestlers and pro wrestling accounts have signed up to Bluesky - including Cultaholic - since the platform's launch but WWE have not set up an account on Bluesky. According to Fightful Select, this is because of WWE's ties to X/Twitter. WWE and X/Twitter reached an agreement in 2024 to air WWE Speed on the platform.
WWE Speed was initially tested in December 2023 and launched on X in the Spring of 2024. The current WWE Speed champions are Dragon Lee and Candice LeRae, although the belts are only featured on the social media platform and not regular WWE programming.
Initially formed as a side project within Twitter by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, Bluesky launched in February 2023. The platform has over 28 million users, according to Bluesky.
