The future of WrestleMania has experienced a lot of change in recent weeks, with it being revealed that WWE were changing the location of next year’s event, moving away from New Orleans with plans to return the two-night spectacle back to Las Vegas for the second year in a row. This decision was believed to be made on financial incentive, with the reported belief being that WWE would make more money from a return to Las Vegas rather than New Orleans.
On the back of this change, reports emerged of WWE potentially planning Las Vegas to be a more regular home of WrestleMania going forwards, though contradicting reports emerged, suggesting that this was simply a negotiation tactic on WWE’s part to prompt bigger bids from other cities. However, in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has explained WWE is already planning on hosting for Las Vegas based WrestleManias. Even though next year’s show has not yet been announced, Meltzer notes that another additional WrestleMania is also in the works on top of that, confirming previous news of WWE wanting to be in the city more often for the show.
When it comes to WrestleMania moving away from North America, it was revealed this week that a London-based show could begin to look more unlikely, with England’s capital city not willing to offer the amount that WWE will be expecting to host the event. In terms of a potential show in Saudi Arabia, those in WWE believe that it would likely be a case of having a show similar to that of the ‘Greatest Royal Rumble’, such as a ‘Super WrestleMania’.
