WWE Backstage Reaction To SmackDown TLC Match

The teams of the Street Profits, Motor City Machine Guns, and #DIY were out to prove they belonged on the WrestleMania 41 card on the post-WrestleMania edition of Friday Night SmackDown in their Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships.

All three teams put their bodies on the line, including Tommaso Ciampa putting Montez Ford through a ladder with an Air Raid Crash, Ford being Superkicked by Johnny Gargano while stuck in a ladder, and Gargano being sent through a table by MCMG. It was ultimately the Street Profits who grabbed the belts, retaining the WWE Tag Team Titles in the process.

The match was critically acclaimed following SmackDown and Fightful Select has reported the match received "incredible reviews" within WWE. It was noted by people within the company ahead of SmackDown that the teams being left off WrestleMania would be a big talking point.

Despite the violence of the match, the belief internally was that everyone was "relatively healthy" following the contest. The TLC Match was produced by Jamie Noble and Kenny Dykstra.
