A new WWE talent wasn't able to retain the name they used on the independent wrestling scene this week as Delta made her NXT debut as Zaria, appearing in the final moments of Tuesday night's episode from the WWE Performance Center.

WWE name changes were common, particularly under the Vince McMahon regime, but they have become more sporadic in recent years, with Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, and Motor City Machine Guns all debuting on WWE TV with the names they used outside of the company.

Zaria's name change, however, didn't surprise people within WWE NXT, according to Fightful Select's Corey Brennan. It was expected there would be issues with trying to trademark 'Delta', which may have led to WWE commissioning the name change.

Zaria's debut didn't occur without issues and WWE NXT officials were "upset" after NXT went off the air early on CW affiliate channels. Issues occurred as WWE NXT told satellite providers they would be on the air right until 10 pm ET, but some CW affiliates aired the show on a 20-second delay.

Zaria is expected to appear at Sunday's Halloween Havoc event.
