WWE Changes Eli Knight's Ring Name Due To Similarity To LA Knight

Another WWE NXT talent in Eli Knight recently underwent a name change in the company, with Knight being renamed to EK Prosper.

While he has yet to wrestle under the new moniker, Knight has been officially renamed on WWE.com, which comes after WWE filed to trademark 'EK Prosper' with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on March 31.

There was a simple reason behind Eli Knight being renamed to EK Prosper, with WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reporting that the belief within WWE is Eli Knight was too similar to LA Knight as a name, especially as Shaun Ricker performed as Eli Drake prior to signing with WWE in 2021.

Eli Knight - which is his real name - made his pro wrestling debut in 2018 and performed on the indies until he signed a full-time developmental deal with WWE in January 2026. Knight has since been featured in the WWE Speed Men's Title picture and competed for the belt on the February 24 episode of NXT against Elio LeFleur and Jasper Troy. The match was ultimately won by LeFleur.
